Getting ready to record episode #13 of Cheap Fun! The Short Story Podcast and thought that I should share a pic of the new microphone in all its glory.  Thanks again RAC!  Also thanks to the RAC a brand spanking new app for iPhone and Android devices will soon be available to download.

Fun is FUN!  I like fun.  Studio day is fun.  Lots of work in progress.  Let's take a look see................

-Two abstracts.  Simpson #1 and Simpson #2.  I forget which is which.

-On the easel another abstract.  No title yet.  Usually abstracts are named after jazz related stuff.  How about Kenny G?

-Becky is being creepy back in the back.  Making a poster appearance soon.

-And finally a super yacht.  Much better than a regular yacht.

Cheap Fun is now up on iTunes!  Does that mean we here at the Shenandoah School for Fancy Ass Literature are now legit?  Not quite.

Here it is, episode 11.  Teenage boys fighting boredom with fire.  Thanks again to the RAC for funding my future endeavors.  Episode 12 will be the year anniversary of the podcast so expect cake and ice cream.  For me, not for you.

Good news!


First... July 6th the newest issue of Le Wobble comes out featuring work by myself, my future wife, and many friends. For more information on how to get a copy and if you want to attend the release party visit the le wobble website.

Second...  I just got news that I have been awarded a grant from the Regional Arts Commission here in St. Louis for the Cheap Fun! Podcast.  Now I will be able to buy a new microphone so you can't hear my dog sighing in the the background and get my stuff up on iTunes so even more people can have the chance to not listen!  Okay, no jokes.  I'm happy as a clam.

Uh oh, now I'm going to have to change my whole outlook on life.  I've gotten most of my creative juice from being cynical.  I'm screwed.  Anyway, new podcast episode coming July 1st.

GLOOM AND DOOM

Before the crowd that had gathered outside Mr. Sullivan’s house lay not the plump body of a sixty eight year old man in repose, starring up at a benevolent afternoon sky from the comfort of his thick blue grass, the way maybe a man his age should have gone and in fact prepares in such ways to go.  Rather they saw the small fly stuck piles of red mush that had all but lost its humanity with the exception of a pair of legs in velour lounge pants splayed in the grass.  Mr. Sullivan’s knobby old man knees.  Mr. Sullivan’s dry bare feet. The newspaper in its blood spattered plastic bag.
